The Ledbury Spindleback
Originally designed and made by Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) for a client in Ledbury, Herefordshire, the design was said to be inspired by the chairmaker Philip Clissett (1817-1913). This refined, everyday rush-seated oak armchair is impressive craftsmanship that survives in both oral tradition and with thanks to skilled apprenticeships. A wax ‘aged’ finish. Made to order.
