I'm Nolan, founder of Tyssen England. Inspired by the practical, unassuming beauty of old English lamps, and driven by the scarcity of good makers today, I learned how to make them myself. As an antique dealer I was drawn to the timeless quality of brass, taking lamps apart to understand them. Rewiring and reassembling them gave me the same pleasure I had playing with Meccano as a boy. There’s an enduring honesty to brass. Each lamp I hand finish, with a respect for the way things were. There's a rich tradition of makers, and Tyssen England is proud to carry a worthy torch.
